Dear Parents,
I hope you are enjoying the summer with your loved ones.
I am writing to share important news regarding our parish priests. Bishop Dolan has announced new assignments that will take effect on September 1, 2025.
Fr. James, who has been such a deeply loved and supportive presence in our school and parish community, has been assigned as Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish. Fr. Augustine will become Parochial Vicar at St. Steven’s Parish in Sun Lakes. We will also be welcoming Fr. Manasseh Iorchir, VC, as the new Pastor of St. Benedict Parish, and Fr. Emmanuel Peregrine Ogla, VC, as Parochial Vicar at St. Benedict. All of these priests are members of the Via Christi Society, which will now be caring for the pastoral needs of St. Steven, St. Benedict, and Corpus Christi parishes.

I hope you are enjoying the early days of summer—filled with rest, joy, and time with loved ones. While our campus may be quieter without your children’s laughter echoing through the classrooms & playground, we are already hard at work preparing for another faith-filled and academically strong school year.
As we plan for the year ahead, I would like to inform you that 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Naneth Perezchica will not be returning to teach at St. John Bosco next school year. Mrs. Perezchica has made the heartfelt decision to step away from the classroom to spend more time with her family. We are incredibly grateful for her years of dedication, faith, and love for our students. Please join me in thanking Mrs. Perezchica for her meaningful service to our school community and praying for God’s blessings upon her next chapter.

Today, we celebrated our annual Recognition Mass honoring students who recently received their First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Led by our own Fr. James, these students—mostly third graders, with a few from other grades—participated in the Mass with grace and reverence.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Alisha Watson and Mrs. Melissa Acosta for preparing our students for these important sacraments, and to our second-grade moms for hosting a lovely reception afterward.
We also celebrated our Preschool graduation today! Our youngest students lit up the stage as they marked the end of preschool and look ahead to joining the “big kids” in kindergarten next year.

Join us today at 2:00pm for the Annual Birdies "FORE" Bosco Golf Tournament, followed by the End-of-Year Bosco Bash ("after-party dinner") at 6:00pm at Whirlwind Golf Club.
This event is more than just a golf tournament — it's a celebration for the entire SJB community! After the exciting golf scramble, everyone is invited to the banquet room for the Bosco Bash, a fun-filled gathering for parents, grandparents, and community members. It’s also your final chance to purchase a parking spot or a Louis Vuitton raffle ticket in support of the school. All proceeds from today’s event will go toward updating our shade structures, restrooms, and more. Let’s come together to celebrate another successful year at St. John Bosco and finish the school year with great swing and spirit!

This week we observed Holy Week through several meaningful Lenten activities including class- and teacher-led Stations of the Cross held throughout campus. This morning, our 6th-grade students presented a special performance of The Passion of Christ. Following the presentation, all homeroom classes participated in Lenten Retreats. Easter Break began today at 12:30pm, and school will resume on Tuesday, April 22.
As we prepare for the joy of Easter, I pray your family experiences a beautiful celebration filled with love, peace, and renewed faith. May this sacred season bring abundant blessings to you and your loved ones.

We’ve officially reached the halfway point of our third trimester! This evening, parents of students in Kindergarten through 8th grade will receive a progress report via email. This report provides a snapshot of your child’s current academic standing and offers a valuable opportunity for continued growth before final report cards are issued on the last day of school, May 22nd.
I am happy to introduce our new art teacher, Mrs. Kristyn Piper. Kristyn has degrees and endorsements in art and education and years of experience. She is excited to join our St. John Bosco Community this Monday. She will assist with IOWA testing, carpool, and lunch duties as well as begin teaching art lessons in the afternoon. Please join me in warmly welcoming Mrs. Piper to our SJB family!

It is with mixed emotions that we share news of several beloved members of our school community who will be embarking on new journeys in the coming year.
After over 30 years of dedicated teaching, Mrs. Sharon Faccenda has made the decision to retire. Mrs. Faccenda is looking forward to traveling and spending more time with her family. While we will miss her in the classroom, we are excited to know that her granddaughter is a student here, and Mrs. Faccenda plans to continue to volunteer, so we’ll still see her around!

READ MOREDear Parents,
Partnering with parents is essential to fulfilling the mission of St. John Bosco by educating the whole child—academically, socially, and spiritually. Meeting in person with parents to have meaningful conversations about how to best meet their child's needs is crucial in this process. A sincere thank you to everyone who participated in our spring Parent-Teacher Conferences. These meetings provided a valuable opportunity to work together closely, ensuring we are meeting the needs of each student. With just three months left in the school year, we are excited to continue this journey of learning and fun as we finish "Bulldog strong"!

Report cards will be sent via email today by 5:00 pm, and conferences are scheduled next week on February 10, 11, 12, and 13. Please be aware of early dismissal (12:30pm) on all four days to facilitate conferences between teachers and parents. Ensuring prompt pickup or registering with Innovation Learning for aftercare is crucial to allow teachers to start their conferences on schedule.
As we enter into the 3rd Trimester, I want to remind everyone how essential punctuality and regular attendance are to our students’ success throughout the school year. Arriving on time is essential for setting a positive tone for the day. When students are punctual, they can participate in morning prayer, announcements, and engage fully in the initial lessons that lay the groundwork for the entire day’s learning. When students are on time they will benefit from the inspirational start of the day and be ready to absorb new concepts that build throughout their lessons.
