This Sunday marks the final opportunity to secure your child's spot for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. As we gear up for Catholic Schools Week, the review and acceptance of new students will begin. Several classes are already full with waiting lists in place. To ensure your child's enrollment, please complete the re-enrollment process by this Sunday. All current families have received re-enrollment emails multiple times this past month and received another reminder this week.

This weekend marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week, the most thrilling time for our students and community! Encourage your children to wear their SJB school uniform to Mass at your home parish this weekend to display their school spirit. As a special incentive, every student who wears their school uniform to Mass this weekend will enjoy a Free Dress Day on Thursday, February 6.

His immense effort in preparing our annual Christmas program, beautifully hosted in our church for the first time, brought the true spirit of the season to life. We have an exciting week ahead at SJB! We’ll kick off Monday, December 16 with PJ and Peppermint Day, a special celebration to mark not only meeting but exceeding our Running with Rosco goal. I am incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication in raising funds for our school!

On Wednesday, December 18, at 6:00pm, we’ll gather for our 23rd Annual Christmas Program. Under the direction of Dr. Luis Rodriguez, this memorable event will take place in the beautiful St. Benedict Church, featuring our kindergarten through 5th-grade students singing and playing instruments. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will contribute by reciting Scripture and assisting behind the scenes.

For existing students, re-enrollment will be opened today Monday, December 2nd. You will receive an email with further re-enrollment instructions from Renweb momentarily. As we embrace the Thanksgiving season of reflection and gratitude, I want to express how thankful I am to be part of the St. John Bosco family. Your trust in us and your contributions to creating a loving, supportive community mean so much.

Today I am thrilled to share that our students performed exceptionally well on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) last spring! They exceeded the Diocese averages in Reading, English Language Arts (ELA), and Mathematics—a testament to their hard work, the dedication of our faculty, and your unwavering support. As I’m sure you have all seen by now, Running with Rosco is off to the races! We are strongly encouraging every family to create a free fundraising page on our new platform, Booster. Every student registered on the platform receives a keychain prize automatically! And consider donating and sharing your fundraising page with friends and family. Not only will this help your kids earn more prizes, it will help our school make playground improvements that will last for many years to come.

In addition to the toy prizes that our kids love so much, we’re also offering a number of exciting school-wide incentives.

I would like to inform you of a change regarding the academic honors recognition at St. John Bosco Catholic School. Moving forward, 1st and 2nd honors will now be awarded only to our 7th- and 8th-grade students.
