Everyone is invited and welcome to be a part of the SJB Parent Teacher Organization!

WHO WE ARE

St. John Bosco PTO, in collaboration with the school administration and community, aims to enrich the educational experience for teachers and students through active involvement in school activities, open communication with the SJB community, dedicated volunteerism and together celebrating our Catholic identity. 

The PTO brings parents and teachers of St. John Bosco together to support the needs of the school. The PTO helps organize and fund activities for the school and community and provides volunteers to support these activities. Anyone is invited to attend PTO meetings and activities. We hope you can come to a meeting and see what the PTO is all about!

WHAT WE DO

School and Community activities: The PTO coordinates and participates in many activities to foster connection within the school and the wider community. Some annual highlights include the Back-to-School Ice Cream Social, Fall Harvest Fest, Family Movie Night, Running with Rosco, Pancakes with Santa, Catholic Schools Week and the Father-Daughter Dance.

Hospitality: Our teachers and staff are awesome! To show our appreciation, the PTO organizes and supports accommodations for them during fall and spring conferences, Teacher Appreciation Week and through various initiatives throughout the year.

New Family: The PTO assists to welcome new families to St. John Bosco.

Used Uniform Sales:  The PTO collects and organizes donations of used uniforms for the school, and hosts sales at specific school events.  Used uniforms can be purchased any time throughout the school year.

Running with Rosco: Typically held the day before Thanksgiving, this is St. John Bosco’s annual fun run and major fundraiser hosted by PTO.

Students, families, and staff members run laps around the athletic fields alongside the school mascot, Rosco the Bulldog.

The event raises significant funds for campus improvements such as playground equipment, outdoor learning spaces, bathrooms, and fencing through student pledges and t-shirt sponsorships.

Supporting Needs of the School: Each year, the PTO collaborates with the school administration to contribute funds to address various needs to improve the school. Below are a few examples of projects made possible in part with PTO support and leading our Running with Rosco fundraising event:

• Teacher lounge update
• New sports equipment for all homeroom classes
• Vision screening kit for Health office
• CPR training for the 8th graders
• Shade structures
• Jungle gym
• Swing Set

With so many opportunities to support our students and community, we need your help!

Please consider joining us to help at an event or two and/or by volunteering in an administrative position or as an event chair. Your time and talents are appreciated.

Becoming part of this group is a great way to contribute to SJB initiatives, earn volunteer hours and make connections with other families.

Note: All PTO meetings are scheduled to be held in the SJB Art Room (enter through north gate). All meetings are listed in the School Events Calendar. Dates, times, and locations are subject to change but will be communicated in advance.
