Dear Parents,

We are now half-way through the first trimester. Parents of students in K - 8th grades will receive a progress report (via email) today. This provides parents with a snapshot of their students' progress for the first six weeks of the school year. It also alerts students and parents that they have approximately 6 more weeks to improve or maintain their current grade before gradebooks close and report cards are distributed on Tuesday, November 2.

Dear Parents,

My heart is so full from all of the birthday wishes, flowers, cards, and treats. My office has never looked so pretty! I was especially surprised at the end of Mass today when every class and PTO brought up cards and flowers as the whole school sang “Happy Birthday.” It was hard not to get a little emotional! I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to be your principal and I care very much for each and every one of you and your sweet children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Joyful Blessings,
Jamie Bescak, Principal

Dear Parents,

Thank you to all who supported this morning’s 9/11 Patriot Day observance honoring victims of the 2001 national tragedy. Our Student Council Officers and Scouts are to be commended for the reverence and leadership they showed during this annual solemn ceremony and prayer service. And all were captivated by Librarian Theresa Harvey as she recounted the fateful day 20 years ago while supervising students on the brand new SJB campus who had not yet heard about the terrorist act. Parents were called and children went home to be with their families.

Dear Parents,

What a wonderful way to start off our week by gathering as a community at TopGolf to show our School Spirit! The entire first floor of TopGolf in Gilbert was filled with St. John Bosco students and families as our Dads’ Club hosted a fabulous, fun-filled family event and raised over $8,500 for school enhancements. We are blessed to have such an active, supportive community.

Dear Parents,

It has been a busy week as students are settling into their daily routines of centers, lessons, group projects, and homework. They should be coming home pretty tired and hungry after all of their hard work. As I make my daily rounds through classrooms (my favorite part of the day!), I see smiling faces, friendships forming, and hear joyful laughter. It is quite apparent these children enjoy being in school.

Dear Parents,

Thank you all for contending with the rainstorm Wednesday to attend Curriculum Night. It was wonderful to gather as a community to hear what our teachers have in store for your children this year. Our teachers are incredibly excited to be able to teach all their students in person utilizing small group instruction, science labs, outdoor learning experiences and more. We truly appreciate your support of our mission to educate the “whole child” and look forward to working in partnership with you throughout the school year.

Dear Parents,

We had a fabulous 1st week of school! Thanks to our PTO our students entered our school gates in style. Father James and I enjoyed greeting each student and their parents as they walked down the red carpet. What a wonderful way to start our school year and celebrate our 20th Anniversary! We hope you will all join us tomorrow (Saturday) from 5:00 - 7:00 PM for our Back to School BBQ hosted by our PTO, Dads’ Club, St. Benedict, and the Fr. Bob Binta Knights of Columbus. Food, music, games and dunk tank entertainment will be provided for all to enjoy. This event will be held outside in our courtyard and MPR.

Dear Parents,

This is such an exciting time as we celebrate SJB’s 20th year! Our teachers have been busy preparing for their students to return to school and can’t wait to meet each and every one at Meet the Teacher this Monday, August 9, 3:00 - 6:00 PM.

Your first stop will be the MPR to pick up your Welcome Folder and your child’s new class assignment. Used uniforms will be available for purchase (cash or checks) at deeply discounted prices. Then you may proceed to your child’s classroom and meet the teacher. We encourage you to bring your child’s classroom supplies (see list below) at this time to ease the hustle and bustle on the first day of school. We have extended the time to allow space in between visiting families. We kindly request that adults and students wear face masks and maintain a limit of 5 families in a classroom at one time to allow for social distancing.
