Safe Environment Training

Safe Environment Training (SET)  is a program designed to keep children safe on all Diocese of Phoenix campuses through continuing education and building environmental and relationship awareness.

The online training is administered through our partner Catholic Mutual Group (CMG) Connect and is renewed annually in July. The initial “Foundation” session is approximately 50-60 minutes long and consists of watching a video and answering a few questions. Subsequent yearly “Renewal” sessions follow a similar format and take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Criminal background checks are applied for online and required every six years.

The Diocese of Phoenix requires all employees and volunteers at all campuses and facilities to maintain current Safe Environment Training (SET) certification and pass a background check before participating in any ministry.
