6th Grade STREAM Projects
Our students learned how to use TinkerCAD and create 3D models using polygons. The students also researched a patron saint and placed symbols for them on their finger rosary to personalize it.
Once they completed their design, the students were shown how to use the 3D printers to print out their finger rosaries. Father James later blessed them at a school wide Mass.
Students create videos by writing, filming and editing. Students learn how to film using the green screen, lights, boom mics, Chromebooks and video cameras. Working collaboratively, the students use WeVideo, a cloud-based video editing software to create a commercial for a product the students have invented.
Our students learn about the Engineering Design Process and apply it to creating a working Water rocket.
The students research the optimum shapes for the nose cone and the fins so they can 3D design and print their own. Students learn how to use a spreadsheet to help track data and use their video editing skills to video document their journey through their project.
