December 12

12-12-2025Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Dear Parents,

We have an exciting week ahead at SJB! We’ll kick off Monday, December 15th, with PJ and Peppermint Day, a special celebration to mark not only meeting but exceeding our Running with Rosco goal. I am incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication in raising funds for our school!

On Wednesday, December 17, at 6:00pm, we’ll gather for our 24th Annual Christmas Program. Under the direction of Dr. Luis Rodriguez, this memorable event will take place in the beautiful St. Benedict Church, featuring our kindergarten through 5th-grade students singing and playing instruments. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will contribute by reciting Scripture and assisting behind the scenes.

There’s no need to worry about seating—every seat will provide a wonderful view! Additionally, Mr. Macdonald will live-stream and record the entire performance and share the video with families via email by Friday afternoon. To ensure everyone enjoys the program, we kindly ask that all attendees remain seated and keep cameras and phones in their laps. For the safety of our students and staff, it’s also crucial to keep clear ALL (side & middle) aisles as they move to and from the altar/stage. There will be additional seating in the Cry Room, Choir Loft, and the Narthex.

Students need to be in their classrooms promptly at 5:30 pm to ensure we can start on time. Parents are encouraged to park in the North Lot, Church Lot, or in the dirt area behind the church. Additionally, when the program concludes, students will be safely escorted back to the school by their teacher. Parents MUST collect their child from their school classroom. Students are NOT permitted to leave from the church to ensure the safety of ALL.

On Thursday, December 18, ALL students are invited to complimentary Pancakes with Santa in the MPR during their scheduled lunch time, hosted by our PTO and Dads’ Club. Students will enjoy brunch, wear festive Christmas apparel, and take photos with Santa. In the afternoon, after brunch & recess, students will continue the celebration with their classroom Christmas parties. A quick reminder for parent volunteers—please ensure your Safe Environment Training is up to date.

Lastly, please note that Thursday, December 19, is a Full Day of school with dismissal at 3:00pm. We also have school on Friday, December 20, with dismissal at 12:30pm. Let’s make this week a joyful and memorable close to Advent season at SJB! Wishing you all the peace, joy, and blessings of Christmas as we celebrate together as one SJB family.
