1st day of school reminders - We can't wait to see you!

08-06-2025Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Dear SJB Families,

The first day of school is almost here, and we are so excited to welcome your children back to campus! As we prepare for a joyful and smooth start to the new school year, here are a few helpful reminders to make sure everyone is ready for a successful Day 1:

1. All students should wear their regular school uniform on the first day of school—even if they have PE scheduled. Either white or navy polo shirts are acceptable. PE uniforms will not be worn on the first day.

2. Students will jump right into the full routine with all enrichment classes beginning Wednesday, except Library. Mrs. Mullally will be spending the day checking in and organizing student textbooks in our library system.

3. We will have an all-school Eucharistic Procession through our beautiful campus at 1:15pm, en route to 1:30pm Mass at St. Benedict Church.

4. Start the Day Right

Please help your child:

  • Get to bed early the night before
  • Eat a healthy breakfast
  • Arrive on campus a few minutes early to take those first day of school photos and help them transition into their new classroom with ease.

5. Morning Drop-off & Parking Reminders

  • Drop-off begins at 7:30am
  • The final bell rings at 7:50am sharp. Students are considered tardy after that time.

6. Please help us keep our campus safe and peaceful by following these important parking lot guidelines:

  • Park only in the North or South Lots—1 car per family will help ensure there are enough spaces for everyone.
  • Drive slowly and with care—do not rush. Safety is more important than speed.
  • Do not park in designated handicap, staff, or reserved spots.
  • Please be patient and courteous with fellow families. A calm and respectful parking lot sets the tone for a great day.

7. Please reassure your child that it’s okay to feel a little nervous—it’s a big day! Our teachers and staff are here to greet them with warm smiles, helping hearts, and open arms. We are a school family, and we’re in this together.

We are looking forward to an incredible year filled with learning, growing, and living the Mission of St. John Bosco each day.
