December 13

12-13-2024Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Dear Parents,

We have an exciting week ahead at SJB! We’ll kick off Monday, December 16 with PJ and Peppermint Day, a special celebration to mark not only meeting but exceeding our Running with Rosco goal. I am incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication in raising funds for our school!

On Wednesday, December 18, at 6:00pm, we’ll gather for our 23rd Annual Christmas Program. Under the direction of Dr. Luis Rodriguez, this memorable event will take place in the beautiful St. Benedict Church, featuring our kindergarten through 5th-grade students singing and playing instruments. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will contribute by reciting Scripture and assisting behind the scenes.

There’s no need to worry about seating—every seat will provide a wonderful view! Additionally, Mr. Macdonald will record the entire performance and share the video with families via email by Thursday afternoon. To ensure everyone enjoys the program, we kindly ask that all attendees remain seated and keep cameras and phones in their laps. For the safety of our students, it’s also crucial to keep the aisles clear as they move to and from the altar/stage.

Students need to be in their classrooms promptly at 5:30 pm to ensure we can start on time. Parents are encouraged to park in the North Lot, Church Lot, or in the gravel area on the North side of the church.

On Thursday, December 19, at 7:00am, all families are invited to the Pancakes with Santa event in the MPR and courtyard, hosted by our PTO and Dads’ Club. Families may enjoy breakfast, wear festive Christmas apparel, and take photos with Santa. Following breakfast, students will continue the celebration with their classroom Christmas parties. A quick reminder for parent volunteers—please ensure your Safe Environment Training is up to date.

Lastly, please note that Thursday, December 19, is a half-day with dismissal at 12:30 PM. Let’s make this week a joyful and memorable close to our Advent season at SJB! Wishing you all the peace, joy, and blessings of Christmas as we celebrate together as one SJB family.
