12-03-2021Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! I hope you and your family had a peaceful Thanksgiving break together and time to reflect on the many blessings in our lives.

We have now entered the season of Advent — a time for hope, love, joy, and peace. As a Catholic school, we see signs everywhere of the reason for the season. We began our week gathering in the courtyard as our Campus Ambassadors and Student Council led us in our annual Advent prayer service. It was a wonderful way for us all to remember the reason for the season… Jesus.

I want to thank Mrs. Mindy Nguyen for graciously donating the beautiful Advent banners as well as many other liturgical banners that we will use throughout the year. I especially want to thank Mrs. Kari Czerniski, Ms. Karen Rizzo, Mr. Daniel Aguilar, Deacon Ed, and the Knights of Columbus for their tremendous effort in making our courtyard the most beautiful space for all to gather during Advent.

I would also like to kindly remind everyone that the safety of our children is our number one priority. It is important that students are not dropped off in the north parking lot. Parents may use our efficient carpool valet service if needed to quickly drop off a child. Otherwise, parents may park in the north parking lot and safely walk their child to the front gate or classroom.

Lastly, I am thrilled to share some exciting news! We have been awarded a Virginia G. Piper grant for $87,000 enabling the installation of four new HVAC systems with air filtration units in the MPR. We have also been blessed with an Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) grant that will supply new Chromebooks for all students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, enabling us to go 1-to-1 in all classrooms. These two grants will greatly facilitate learning and provide comfort to students, staff, and visitors to our campus.

Joyful blessings,
Jamie Bescak, Principal
