LASER Awards
When St. John Bosco school was first opened, those that were here asked “What kind of students should our children be when they graduate? What should they be able to do? Our LASER skills are those things.
Life-long learners who:
- Do well on their schoolwork
- Work hard to achieve their goals
- Keep trying if at first they don’t succeed
- Demonstrate critical and creative thinking
Active Catholics who:
- Practice the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
- Demonstrate faith through service, stewardship, and Christian attitude toward others
- Let others know they are Catholic
- Show understanding and respect towards other people
Self-Aware Individuals who:
- Are confident and work hard toward achieving their goals
- Practice good health habits
- Demonstrate awareness through their minds, bodies, and spirituality
Effective communicators who:
- Speak, read and write
- Demonstrate active listening skills
- Show empathy for others
- Incorporate the use of technology
- Use good organizational skills
Responsible Citizens who:
- Understand and practice their responsibilities
- Cooperate with others and work well with others
- Dedicated to the common good

- Are aware of what is going on around them
