Scrip Tuition Credit Guidelines
Why Does SJB Have a SCRIP Program?
SCRIP programs hae proven to be a successful fundraiser at our affiliate Catholic Schools -- some earning $100,000+. SJB families have the possibility of earning partial or several months of tuition credit through active SCRIP participation, in addition to ofsetting on-going costs at SJB. This is the ONLY way to reduce your tuition cost. It is a win/win program at no cost to you as the SCRIP certificates are "substitute" for cash at the merchants.
How Does SCRIP Work:
- SJB purchases certificates at a discount, good for shopping, merchandise, food and services, from numerous stores and restaurants.
- The family then purchases the SCRIP certificate at face value from our SCRIP team at SJB.
- The discount or profit, which ranges from 1.5% to 70% is then split between SJB and the family 50/50 after $150 in profit is accumulated or immediately with a $150 deductible donation to SJB.
Program Guidelines:
For the 2008-2009 school year, the SJB SCRIP program will expect each family to meet a minimum $150.00 profit/contribution. After this profit/contribution has been met, the subsequent profit will be split 50/50 between SJB and the family to be used ONLY for student tuition credit or re-registration fee. NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED TO ANY FAMILY. IT IS ONLY FOR TUITION CREDIT!
- The SCRIP fiscal year is March 16, 2008 to March 15, 2009.
- Tuition Credit is given after the family has reached their $150.00 in profit.
- The families that pay tuition in full will have the choice of using their tuition credit for the re-registration fee, for the following year's tuition, to be donated to to the SJB General Fund.
- For the families that pay monthly (FACTS families ONLY) you have the option of having your tuition credit go towards the following months tuition after yu have received your SCRIP Tuition Report, for re-registration fee, to be donated back to the SJB General Fund.
- You may pay with either Cash, Check (SJB families ONLY) or Credit Card (MasterCard/Visa ONLY) with a minimum purchase of $200/order and a flat fee of $20/SCRIP calendar year. You may ONLY use your credit card for purchases that pay 4% or more!!!! Credit Card sales will take place during our regular office hours. (There is a returned check fee of $25.00. Cash will only be accepted after 2 returned checks).
It is EASY to participate! It just takes some planning.
- Pick up an order form at the front office or outside at the SCRIP office during regular office hours. You can also print one off our web page.
- Fill it out and return it with a check, cash or credit card. Checks must be from the SJB family, however, feel free to gather orders from your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc.
- Bring it to the SCRIP office during our regular hours and take it home with you on the spot. Please note that if an item is not in stock or has to be special ordered it would not be available that same day.
- Remember to carry the SCRIP with you anytime you plan to spend money!
