Kindergarten Admissions Process
We have completed the first round of acceptance for the 2010-2011 Kindergarten classes. To be added to the waiting list please send an application and we will contact you to schedule a visit if we have any openings.
Step One:
Application
- Student /Family Application Form: One form is required for each student applying to the school. Please note: State law and Diocesan policy requires that any child entering Kindergarten be five years of age before August 31st.
- Birth Certificate: ORIGINAL document required for each applicant (will be returned)
- Sacrament Certificates: Copy of Baptismal for each applicant.
- Parish Verification Letter from your home parish.
- Application Fee: The application fee is $50 (non-refundable nor applicable towards tuition) per applicant. Please make your check payable to St. John Bosco Interparish School.
Step Two: Gesell
All Kindergarten applicants are required to take the Gesell Kindergarten Readiness assessment. This assessment is administered at St. John Bosco by a trained evaluator for a fee of $35.00. Payment is due with application. For more information on the Gesell Kindergarten Readiness assessment please click on the following link http://www.gesellinstitute.org/.
Step Three: Notification
Families who meet the following requirements will have first consideration for enrollment. However, all families are encouraged to apply.
- St. John Bosco Pre-K students
- Sibling of a current SJB student
- Registered in a Catholic parish
- Positive outcome on the Gesell Assessment
A confirmation letter will be sent to all applicants within one week of completion of Gesell testing. Applications for students beyond the number we are able to accept, will be placed in a waiting pool.
We maintain a waiting pool, not a numbered waiting list. Unlike a waiting list, a waiting pool does not imply a “first come, first served” commitment on the part of the school. Several factors are considered when an opening occurs including but not limited to those listed above.
