Accelerated Reading (AR) is an independent reading web based management software program that provides computerized reading diagnostic tests.  Books in the AR reading program are given two numbers, a reading level and a point value based on the length of the book.    

Points are earned based on the number right scored on the computerized quiz.  You may take the quiz in your classroom, computer room, or the school library.

Every student has an assigned username and password to access Accelerated Reader quizzes.  In grades K-8 the student's user name is his/her first letter of his/her first name and the first four letters of his/her last name ex: Theresa Harvey's user name is THARV.  If a sibling has the same user name it will have a number designation such as THARV1.  The password for grades K-3 is his/her initials ex: TH.  The password for grades 4-8 is his/her three digit library number ex:678. You may email Mrs. Harvey at tharvey@sjbosco.org if you have questions. problems or concerns.    Parents may access student records from home  and check for AR quizzes availability, but in keeping with the integrity of the AR system children MAY NOT take AR quizzes from home.  If quizzes have been taken by students from home, the quiz will be deleted from the student's record.
