Student of the Week
STAR OF THE WEEK and Science Presentation
You signed your child up for a week in which they are the Star of the Week. During that week we celebrate your child with learning more about him/her through pictures. You will be provided with a poster board which will hold these special pictures that your child would like to share.
Each day your child will have a chance to share some of their favorite things:
- A special toy to show the class
- Favorite story/book to share with the class
- Special visitor
On Friday of their week they will also present to the class a science lesson. This is a fun way for the kids to tell everyone about something they have become the “expert” on. It can be about any topic that interests your child and family. The presentation lasts no longer than 30 minutes. You can spend a few weeks leading up to the presentation doing the “research”.
Sample topics:
Animals (any kind) “Sink” or “Swim”
Weather, clouds, lightening Our Earth
Caves Planets
Senses (indicate which one) Space
Energy, heat, friction
Magnets
Wind
Volcanoes
These are only a few suggestions. Let your and your child’s mind wonder at the endless possibilities you will come up with. Have lots of fun doing this together!!!
