SELF CHECK - ACCOUNTABILITY

Card System used as a self-check system for accountability of actions.

From August through December all students will have 1 purple, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 orange and 1 red card in their name pocket.  If a child reaches step 2 of the behavior plan, then he/she will begin losing cards.  The cards are their self-check and an awareness of how his/her day is going.  If a child loses all cards in his/her pocket, that child will receive a “BOO HOO BLUE” or time out card.  If a child receives three "Boo Hoo Blues" in a two week period, then the child will be referred to the Assistant Principal  on the fourth time out card.  All time out cards must be signed by a parent and returned to the teacher the next day.

Every child has an opportunity to earn back some or all of their missing cards each day.  Your child’s behavior will be tracked on a monthly calendar and sent home every Friday beginning in September.  Each day a child will receive one of the following faces on their calendar:

  • Purple card day-gold happy face
  • Green card day-green happy face
  • Yellow card day-yellow happy face
  • Red card day-red happy face
  • No card day-a sad face and a
