* We're all going for a walk! The feedback from the students, staff, teachers and St. Vincent de Paul was so positive and enthusiastic last year that we decided to adopt the SVdP Pantry Walk as a school-wide service project again this year. There are an increasing number of families within the boundaries of St. Benedict Parish that are struggling to put food on the table and purchase basic toiletry items many of us take for granted. St. Benedict Parish has an active SVdP ministry working to help ease these difficult circumstances for our neighbors and they need our help. We ask that each student contribute items to help stock the SVdP pantry and on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 every class will walk over to St. Benedict and stock the items on the shelves themselves. The items will go directly from the shelves, to a family in need. We ask that each student bring only the number of items they can safely carry in their hands or in a bag. A list of suggested non-perishable and toiletry items will be sent home soon but please encourage your child to think of items that they may enjoy themselves if they were hungry. Imagine the difference 570+ children one short walk can make!
Thank You!
*Thank you to all the parents involved with our door decorating!
*Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Spitza and Mr. & Mrs. Benvin for coming in early Saturday morning to put up our door decorations. It looked GREAT!

We are working on learning our daily routine, class rules and procedures as well as the DWP (Discipline with Purpose) skills. We were also able to make some new friends and share about ourselves. We will continue to learn about each other in our first unit, "All about ME".
On the first day of class we toured the campus and met all of the teachers. Today the "Gingerbread Man" had us chasing after him as he was visiting our campus. He left notes for us in the technology lab, library, nurses office, front office, music and the art room. We finally caught up to him back in our classroom where he left us some treats.
