Science Voyages
Objectives
The students will sharpen their techniques of the Scientific Process. The students will be given an opportunity to "discover" the various Realms of Science.
Rules and Procedures
- RESPECT the Lord, people, plants, property, yourself, and animals.
- CONTRIBUTE to the learning environment by participating in class, being ready to learn, and raising your hand to speak.
- BULLYINGIS UNACCEPTABLE, preventable and must be reported
- FOLLOW classroom rules and school procedures
Lab Procedures
- Follow all classroom rules
- Listen and follow directions
- Refrain from horseplay
- Clean up after each activity
- Stay at lab stations
Discipline Cycle
Failure to follow these Rules and Procedures and Lab Procedures will result in two (2) warnings (depending on the severity of the offense). The third offense will result in a name on the board with an STP to follow. STP will either be a written warning or detention.
Grading
Grading will include planned and pop quizzes, tests, lab reports, various projects, SRA, notebook checks, article reports, journals, book reviews, and current events. The grading scale will reflect the same grading scale as shown in the St. John Bosco Handbook.
Extra Credit
Extra credit will be given by the instructor at various times in the grading period, content related only.
Absenteeism
It is very important for a student to make up any work that is missed. The assignment will be due on the return date, or according to the handbook.
Late Work
50% will be taken off if the assignment is not submitted in class period of the due date.

Make-up Tests
Make up tests will be given after school on Tuesday and Thursday during detention time.
Homework
Written homework will not be given every day, but the students are expected to review lab activities or vocabulary each day, making the task much simpler for unit tests and quizzes. Pop quizzes could happen every week. There will be a semester exam final.
