Mrs. Navarro, 6th Grade

Welcome to 6th grade. I would like to introduce myself to you and welcome you to a new and exciting year. This is my 7th year teaching at St. John Bosco and I am looking forward to meeting and teaching your child. I teach Literature, Language Arts, Social Studies and homeroom Religion. Mrs. Hernandez and I work together as a team to give your child the opportunity to help your child grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally.

I hope that your summer is going well as mine is. I am busy relaxing and spending time with my family. I would like to request that your 6th grader read the book: Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. This book will be discussed in class as I use it to review and teach the Discipline with a Purpose Skills (DWP) that we use in our school wide discipline. The students will also be using this book for their first book report. I will also be updating my web site towards the end of July that will include the curriculum that I will be covering for the first quarter of the year.

If you have any questions, please email me but I will be checking my email every few weeks. I am looking forward to meeting you on meet the teacher on Monday, August 11th. The first day of school for new students is August 12th and all returning students and new students on August 13th. The last date that I would like to communicate to you is that Curriculum Night is August 21st. Please refer to our school web site for dates and times.

Have a great rest of the summer and I look forward to meeting you on the 11th.

God Bless Our Efforts,

Angela Navarro
